「最近」はこの場合はやや長めの期間を表しているように感じるので、英語の"nowadays"が適切です。「特に」は"especially"で表しましょう。近所づきあいは"know their neighbours"もしくは"know their neighbourhood"です。また、交流に近い表現を使いたいならば"nteract with"。
