If you like a little bit of spice but not overboard, you can ask them to not make it too spicy, or don't go overboard on the spice. This let's them know that you only want a bit of chili. Another way to describe a meal which isn't too spicy, is 'mild'. "Can I have a mild curry, please".

Most restaurants have a level of spiciness. Level is the quantity or amount of something. In this case, it is the spice. A high level would be very spicy and a low level would be not spicy at all.
Another word for spicy is hot. In this situation hot pertains to the spice level, not the actual temperature of the food. Peppers are often described as hot.

1. You can find ethnic cuisine in different towns and cities throughout the United States. The cuisine that are popular for spice are Indian, Asian and Hispanic. Usually in these restaurants, they offer a "heat level" chart, or how hot or spicy a dish is, which makes ordering a little easier. You can indicate the amount of spice you want from the chart, or you can ask specifically "may I have this less spicy?"
2. "Mild" is a way to measure the level of heat or spice in food. Most sauces or dishes go on a level of extra mild, mild, medium and hot. So, when you ask "may I have it mild please?", you are asking for one of the lowest levels of spice for your meal.

Another way of saying "Not spicy" is "mild"if you do not want your food at the restaurant to be too spicy. Spiciness has to do with chilli and when you request it to be mild, they will automatically understand that you only want there to be a bit of chilli in your food. Another word to use is "hot", and when you combine it in a sentence with spicy, the restaurant will understand that you want it to be mild and not a cold dish!
