Valentine's Day is named after an early saint named Valentinus and it originated as a Western Christian liturgical feast day celebrating this saint. These days it is quite a commercial business with card companies, flower sellers, hotels and restaurants doing very well during this period - along with all the associated merchandising companies.
Hi, Marika!
In the United States, February 14 is also known as Valentine's Day.
Typically, both girls/women and boys/men exchange gifts to one another on this day. While other cultures such as Japan may celebrate "White Day" on March 14, where usually girls/women present gifts to boys/men, the United States does not have such a holiday. It is a shame because I would like to celebrate White Day too!
I hope this helps! Good luck!✰✰
The 14th of February is most commonly known as Valentines Day.
In some cultures, young children call it "Red heart day" because they associate the day with giving cards which are often decorated with red hearts to express love.
