分けるって英語でなんて言うの？

分けると言いたいときには、"divide"が使えます。

分けるは英語で divide, cut や break と言います。

Divide はどの場面でも使えます。

Cut は包丁などを使って切って分けるイメージです。

Break は手で分けるイメージがあります。

ケーキの場合、包丁を使って切るので、cut が一番適切です。Divide でも大丈夫です。

ケーキを人数分に分ける

To divide は誰かに何かあげる時に使われています。（他の意味は「割る」）よく evenly（等しく）と利用します。例えば、
Please divide the cake evenly for everyone.
ケーキを皆のために分けて下さい。
