アメリカでは elementary、イギリスでは primary と言うことが多いと思います。

In the UK we say primary school.
We have nursery, pre-school, primary, middle, secondary, college/6th form, university.
American English use different words to us, like high school, junior high, etc. but you would not hear these in the UK.
*primary school- in Britain it is a school for students/pupils who have finished kindergarten/nursery school.
*elementary school- in America it is a school for students/pupils who have finished kindergarten/nursery school.
Play school/Nursery (British) - Kindergarten (Origin Germany, neutral in English)
Primary school - In the UK this is the Key Stage 1 learning from the ages of 5-11.

Elementary school - This is an American adaptation of "primary school" which is based on low grades/classes at school. (sorry I am not familiar with the American education system).
Play school/Nursery - Kindergarten - early learning school just for a few hours a day between the ages of 2-5 before they start official education.
"My son goes to play school/nursery/Kindergarten 3 times a week."

Infant school' is quite often a description of the earlier years of Primary School in the UK, attended up to the age of about 11 years old.
"My 6 year old son, Nicolas, has already attended two years of Infant School. He will soon move to the Junior School and stay there until he is 11 years old when he will move on to Secondary School."

"primary school" is a term used when we talk about the school grade levels after kindergarten. Depending on the country it might be 1st-5th or 6th grade. After that would be middle school then high school. Most times sixth grade is included in middle school but I is sometimes kept as primary level.

"Elementary" is often used in the USA and other countries, "Intermediate schools" can be found often in the UK.
"My last year at kindergarten, next I will go to Intermediate school".

If you are wondering what to call the school that is after kindergarten but before middle school, it is called "elementary school" or "primary school". In most asian countries they do not call it "elementary school", they call it "primary school". In America however, uses the term "elementary school", not "primary school".
This depends on the country you are in. In Ireland and the UK we would call this Primary school', however in New Zealand and Australia they call this ''Elementary school''.
