Have you decided which internship you are going for?
Going for - means what we are going to choose. Which option we are going for/wanting to do. 'Go for', can mean you have to apply and get assessed and chose for the role.
You can also say it like this - "Have you decided which internship you are going to take?" - If it is a guaranteed job offer.
Going for' （ゆくゆくは/将来は）

The verb 'to decide' means = 'to make up your mind' or, 'to make a decision'.

'to apply for'= this means' to sign up', or 'to choose to do something'.

'to go for' = this means to choose something'

This would be a proper question to ask if your friend has received offers to intern with more than one company. He must decide or choose who he wants to work for.

As this is you friend, I suggest you use this informal question. In England, we use the phrase 'go for' in informal speech. This simply means 'pick' or 'choose' and can be used in many contexts.
For example:
(In a restaurant) Which dish are you going to go for?
(In a shop) Which shirt are you going to go for)
In your case, if you think they have already signed for the internship then use 'did', if not then use 'are you going to'.

The two sentences you see provided above are great ways to ask your listener if they have decided where they are going to do their internship. In the first sentence you will see the term figure out. This means to decide. This term is appropriate for informal settings, like talking with close friends or family, it would make a great addition to your vocabulary.
