DJ is an abbreviation of disc-jockey. It can be used as both a noun and verb. If we want to explain that we are - or are leraning to become - a DJ, and use the term as a noun, we can simply say: 'I am a DJ' 'I've started learning to be a DJ' If we want to use the term DJ as a verb and express the act of making music we can say: 'I am DJing later tonight' I DJed at the club yesterday!'
DJとはdisc-jockeyの略です。名詞または動詞として使えます。 DJである、あるいはDJになろうとしていることを説明するのに、この言葉を名詞として使う場合には、単純に次のように言うことができます。 'I am a DJ' 'I've started learning to be a DJ' DJという言葉を動詞として使い、音楽を作っていることを伝える場合には、次のように言うことができます。 'I am DJing later tonight' I DJed at the club yesterday!'

You can phrase this in a number of ways. If you're talking about having learned to DJ recently; then you would say "I learned how to DJ last year". It's important to be specific when you speak, so try to say when you started learning how to DJ
色々な表現を使って言い表すことが出来ます。 最近DJを習ったとすると、次のように言い表すことが出来ます。 "I learned how to DJ last year" (去年DJを習いました) 話す時、明確にすることがとても重要です。 ですので、いつどうのようにDJを習ったのか言うようにしましょう。

  • I'm a novice DJ, constantly improving my skills

  • I'm a rookie DJ, striving to improve my craft

Well, as you are starting out, you may describe yourself as a 'rookie' or a 'novice.' If you are working as a DJ, then you are in fact, a DJ! Throughout life, people learn and improve various skills that they acquire along the way and you may describe this by using: "...constantly improving my skills.." or, " striving to improve my craft."
まず、”rookie 〜"や”novice 〜”と始めると良いかもしれません。 DJとして働いているのであれば、 ただDJという事ができます。 人生を通して、これまでに得た様々なスキルを習い向上していることになります。 その場合は、このように表現できます。 “… constantly improving my skills.” (常に技術を向上させています。) や “striving to improve my craft.” (技術を向上させるように努めています。)

*Friday nights I DJ at a local club and taking lessons to be a professional DJ at School of music. DJ is short for Disc Jockey. Example Sentence: I'm not yet a professional DJ, I recently registered at the School of Music. Friday nights i DJ at Joe's pub.
"Friday nights I DJ at a local club and taking lessons to be a professional DJ at School of music." (金曜日の夜に私は地元のクラブでDJをしていて、音楽学校でプロのDJになるために授業を受けています。) DJとはDisc Jockeyの省略形です。 例文 "I'm not yet a professional DJ. I recently registered at the School of Music. Friday nights, I DJ at Joe's pub." (私はまだプロのDJではありませんが、最近音楽学校に登録して、 金曜日の夜はジョーズパブでDJをしています。)

  • I'm studying to be a DJ

  • I'm a DJ

By saying you 'started learning' it means that you are not fully qualified but are going to be once you have finished doing the course/learning You could also say 'you are studying to be a DJ' this means the same thing By saying 'i'm a DJ' this suggests that you are currently DJing somewhere
”Started learning"(習い始める)と言うのは、今は未だ資格はないけれど、習い終わったらDJとして本格的に仕事が出来るようになる、というニュアンスです。 ”I am studying to be a DJ"(DJになるために学んでいる)という表現もあります。 ”I'm a DJ"(私はDJです)は、現在DJとしてやっているという意味です。

By stating, "I am learning to be a DJ", this illustrates that you are currently attempting to learn to become a DJ. This allows the person you are talking to too be aware that you are currently a rookie or in training. To explain that you DJ, you can simply state, "I am a DJ".
"I am learning to be a DJ"(DJを習っています)は、今現在DJになれるように努力していることを表します。この文は、今はまだ初心者であることを表します。 「私はDJだ」と言いたいなら、シンプルに"I am a DJ"と表せます。

The two sentences you see provided above are great ways to express to your listener that you are learning to DJ. In the second sentence you will see the word DJing. This means to play music at an event, club, or party. This is a word that is commonly used when describing this kind of job. It would make a great addition to your vocabulary.
上記二つの例文は、DJを習っていると伝える素晴らしい言い方です。 二つ目の例文には"DJing"という表現が使われています。これは「〔イベントやクラブ、パーティーで〕ディスクジョッキーをする」という意味です。"DJing"はこうした仕事を表すときによく使われます。ぜひ語彙に加えておいてください。
