「その場所について聞いたことは本当だった。不気味だった。」

right→まさしく、本当に
give(s) me the creeps→ゾッとさせる、不快感を与える

治安が悪い場所→a bad neighborhood（地区）
治安が悪い国→a dangerous country, an unsafe country
