Lots of ways to say Astronaut in English! Some more informal ways play on the word "space" such as Spaceman or Space Cadet. And let's not forget the infamous David Bowie hit song "Starman"

An astronaut is a person that has been trained to travel into space or a member of a spacecraft. You can also say cosmonaut, although this word as not as common as astronaut. The plural form of the word astronaut is astronauts. For example: The astronauts are training to leave next year. Some other common words include: spaceman, spacewoman, and space cadet. These too are not as common as astronaut.

The official word for someone who has or is going to travel into space is an astronaut. In popular culture, however, they are sometimes referred to as spacemen. Most of the time, though, if someone is talking about humans that have explored outer space, they will use the word astronaut. I hope that this helps. :)

A person who is trained to travel into space in a rocket or spacecraft is called an 'astronaut' or 'cosmonaut'. The noun 'astronaut' is the more commonly used word. An 'astronaut' is trained here on earth by a spaceflight program to enable him/her to command, pilot, or serve as a crew member of a spacecraft. Neil Armstrong, an American aeronautical engineer, is famous for having been the first 'astronaut' to have landed on the moon, walked on it, and left a foot print on it. So, you may say: An astronaut is trained to travel into into space. or I would like to be one of the astronauts that Japanese billionaire, Yusaku Maezawa will take with him to outer space.
ロケットや飛行船に乗って宇宙に行くよう訓練された人のことを「astronaut」または「cosmonaut」といいます。「astronaut(=名詞)」の方がよく使われます。 「astronaut(宇宙飛行士)」は、船員として宇宙船を操縦、指揮できるよう、地球上で訓練を受けます。 アメリカ人航空技師、ニール・アームストロングは、月に降り立った初めて「astronaut」として有名です。 以下のように言えます。 An astronaut is trained to travel into space. (宇宙飛行士は宇宙に行くための訓練を受けます。) I would like to be one of the astronauts that Japanese billionaire, Yusaku Maezawa will take with him to outer space. (日本の億万長者、前沢友作氏が宇宙に連れて行く宇宙飛行士の1人になりたい。)
