「本屋で本を探す際に本の内容を確認します。」は When I'm searching for a book in the bookstore, I check the content of the book. になります。内容が面白いかどうか確認すると言う意味でお使いになるのでしょうか。その場合、I check to see if it's an interesting book. （面白い本かどうか本を見て、確認する。）というフレーズも使えます。
