- this refers to the friends you had when you were at college. Is is common to use the expression 'college days', 'school days' when we want to talk about the time when we were at school or college (some time in the past)

- this is quick and easy way of saying that you have had these friends for a very long time. It doesn't mean your friends are old (as in age) it just means you have been friends for a long time
