To do listを作ってやるべき仕事を一つ一つ潰していくことです。do the tasks one by oneでいいでしょうか。

Check off the things from my to-do list.
To-do list は「やらないといけないことリスト」のことです。
そしてそれをつぶすことをCheck off、つまり「チェックをつける」という意味の言葉を使います。
例えば:
After I finish a task, I will check it off from my to-do list.
(一つの仕事を終わったら、リストから消す)という意味です。
Im checking off the things from my to-do list.
(やらないといけないリストにあるものを消している/潰している)
という意味 になります。
この to-do list は仕事以外にも家でのやらないといけないことをリストにしたものをも指していますので、いろんな場面で使えます。
