「〇〇のDVD借りよう思ったけど、そのDVDが置いてなかった」＝ I wanted to rent ～ but they didn't have it in the shop / I thought about renting ～ but the shop didn't have it ボキャブラリー 借りる　＝ rent （DVDなどの場合） ～しようと思った　＝ I wanted to ～ / I thought about ～ing 置いてなかった　＝ they didn't have it in the shop / the shop didn't have it ※アメリカ英語の場合、「shop」より「store」の方が自然だと思います。
