「隙間」の英訳は文脈によって変わりますが、ここでは "gap" 又は "crack" が一番普通だと思います。
例文：
"The wind is coming in through a gap in the window."
「[窓](https://eikaiwa.dmm.com/uknow/questions/51252/)の隙間から[風](https://eikaiwa.dmm.com/uknow/questions/36355/)が入ってきます。」
a gap in the window = 窓の隙間
a gap in ... = 〜の隙間

この言葉は between と使われています。例えば、[ドア](https://eikaiwa.dmm.com/uknow/questions/55582/)とドア枠の間、隙間があるということです。それは英語で、there's a gap between the door and the door frame. と言えます。
Crack には二つ意味があります。一つは gap 同じ意味です。もう一つの意味は、[人工的](https://eikaiwa.dmm.com/uknow/questions/66902/)にできた隙間です。Gap は自然に起こった隙間ですけど、crack は誰かが何かを壊してからできる隙間です。Crack は動詞としても使えます。
ie: crack open the door / the window is open a crack
Opening は何かをすこしだけ開けてできる隙間です。
ie: to look through the opening in the door

風だけでなく、水や、蟻などに変えても使えます。
どちらかというと隙間より場所に近いニュアンスなのですが、問題無く使えます。
