これは元々アラブの諺だそうです。いろいろな人が使うので少し違ったバージョンがあります。

enemy＝「敵」
ally＝「同盟国・同盟者」

ここでいうyouは「あなた」ではなく、誰にでも当てはまる場合の「誰でも」のような意味です。

The enemy of your enemy is your ally.
「敵の敵は味方だ」

The enemy of my enemy is my ally.
「私の敵の敵は味方です」
