There are times when I love them and other times when I don't like them that much.
家族のことを違う人に伝える時に上に書いた文章を使います。もし違う言い方をしたいならば、There are times when I love my family and other times when I don't like my family that much.とも言えますね。上の文章では家族のことをthem と言ってます。家族ですから、一人以上いると勝手にこちらで解釈しました。ですから、them は一人以上いるときによく使われます。お役に立ちましたか？^^

この場合、次のような言い方ができますよ。
ーThere are times I like them and times I hate them.
「（家族が）好きな時もあれば嫌いな時もある」
There are times ... で「…な時もある」と言えます。
ーSomedays I just love them and other days I can't stand them.
「（家族が）大好きな時もあれば、耐えられない時もある」
can't stand で「耐える・辛抱する」
