celebrateの類義語にcongratulateがあります。congratulate は人を目的語にとります。

NB. We would not say: 'Thanks for celebrating my birthday,' as advised by another anchor! Sending a birthday message to someone is not 'celebrating' anything - and you would not thank someone for celebrating something anyway.
