I believe I ordered the XX, but it hasn't arrived yet. Could you kindly check the order?
"I ordered the XX, but it hasn't arrived yet."
"Could you please check on my order? I ordered the XX, but it hasn't arrived yet."
"I believe I ordered the XX, but it hasn't arrived yet. Could you kindly check the order?"
My order of XX is yet to arrive. Could you check what's causing the delay?
Usually, when we use modal verbs in our questions, like 'could', 'may', e.t.c., we sound polite. I'd advice that you use such language in a fine restaurant.
1. Excuse me, could you give me an idea of when the food will arrive?
2. Hi, is my meal on its way?
1. This is reasonably polite and formal, asking tentatively about the order.
2. To be on its way = happening or arriving soon:
"They have three kids, and another on the way."
"We’re on our way from Logan, and should be there soon."
"My school is well on its way to a championship."
2. To be on its way = 到着するちょっと前、すぐに来るときに使います。
例
"They have three kids, and another on the way."
"We’re on our way from Logan, and should be there soon."
"My school is well on its way to a championship."
When we are at a restaurant and our food is taking longer than you thought, you can say the following:
"Could you check on my food, please?"
"Is my order on it's way?"
"Please tell me, how long before my order arrives?"
""Could you check on my food, please?""
""Is my order on it's way?""
""Please tell me, how long before my order arrives?""
My food "failed to arrive" and I had to complain to the head waiter...
"Service" is a major part of any dining experience, high class or otherwise ;-D
When "our food order fails to arrive" it does frustrate us, but we should always
remain calm and be courteous to staff;-D
Simply let them know the food has "failed to arrive"...and no doubt they will sort
it out for you...ASAP!
Sorry, but my food still hasn't come yet can you please help me check on it?
If you would like to ask where your food is at a restaurant because it is taking a long time, you can say something like "Sorry, but my food still hasn't come yet can you please help me check on it?". or "Can you please help me check on my order?". These are both very polite ways o ask this and can be used in both fancy and not so fancy restaurants.
