埋め合わせは会いたい口実だったって英語でなんて言うの？
彼は仕事がとにかく忙しく、月に一度も会えません。そんな時、私は『埋め合わせとして来月は2回会ってね』と言っていました。
彼はわざと会わないわけじゃないのにと嫌がってチャットすらしてくれなくなり、埋め合わせと言うのは言ってるだけで、会いたい口実なだけだった と伝えたいです。

日本語の文章の始めは「埋め合わせは」だけですが、英語では「Compensation was just an excuse to get together.」と言ったらちょっと不明かもしれません。なので、英語の文章が長くなります。
