❶I did my best even though it was my first time. ❷I did my best even though I had no idea what I was doing.

I did the best I could without knowing how. 「did the best I could」は自分なりに可能な限り努力したことを意味し、「without knowing how」とは正確な方法ややり方を知らなかったにも関わらずという事情を加えています。 例文としては、「Even though it was my first time and I had no idea what I was doing, I struggled to do it to the best of my ability.」や「I had to learn on the fly and gave it my all despite not knowing how.」
