「台風の強さ」は hurricane strength
「単位」は 強やとかの程度を表すの scale です。
その単位は category という、category 1 （弱い） から category 5 （非常に強い） までの程度があります。
Q: What category was the hurricane? / How strong was the hurricane?
A: This hurricane was a Category 1.
Units of typhoon intensityと言ったら、意味が少し分かりにくいと思います。圧力や速度で測定するので、Typhoon intensity in units of pressure (or speed)と言います。
また、
例えば、風力計でよければ、英語でTyphoon intensity scaleになります。
A typhoon moving at about 73-136 knots (12 on the Beaufort scale)
約73から136ノットで動く風（ビューフォート風力計では12）
