- This is a very apologetic answer to your coworker. Firstly, the word "unfortunate" has connotations of expressing regret. This means that you actually telling your coworker that you regret bringing your own lunch.
2)I brought my own lunch today. Maybe we can go to lunch tomorrow?
-These 2 sentences are not as apologetic as the first sentence above. You state that you have your lunch, but you then offer another time when you can go out to lunch.
