「強調」は英語では「Emphasise（英）」「Emphasize（米）」あるいは「Stress」と言います。
I would like to emphasise that it's my birthday today
→ 今日は誕生日であることを強調したいです。
The teacher stressed that students must not be late tomorrow.
→ 「生徒たちは明日絶対遅れてはいけません」と先生が強調した。
「！」のマークは日本語では「びっくりマーク」（Surprise mark)と言いますが、英語では「exclamation mark」と呼ばれています。
強調することは英語でいうと「To emphasize」と言います。
ある部分を強調すること ＝ To emphasize a certain point
同じ言葉ですが他の使い方もあります。例えば： put emphasis on も同じように使えます。

To highlight も似ている意味で、使える言い方になります。To highlight という言い方は「目立たせる、興味を集中させる」という意味になります。
何かを強調をしたいとき「！」のマークを使うこともありだけど、他の便利なやり方は強調したい部分を大文字にすることです。
例えば：
We are on a tight schedule so please BE ON TIME = 厳しいスケジュールですので時間厳守でお願いします
「BE ON TIME」 大文字にしたことで時間を守ることに強調しました。
