アメリカの郵便番号はZIP codeと言います。
アメリカ以外の国はpostal codeを使います。

Codeは、特定な意味を持っている番号と言う意味です。
では、外国人はアメリカに住んでいるのであれば、
What’s your zip code?と聞きます。
もしアメリカ以外の国のであれば、
What’s your postal code?と聞きます。
ちなみに、アメリカでも「postal code」と言ったら伝わるので「postal code」を使う方をおすすめします。

Zip code is usually used in the USA. It is a postal code consisting of five or nine digits.
Postal code is also a series of letters or digits or both, sometimes including spaces or punctuation, included in a postal address for the purpose of sorting mail. The words mean the same and can be used interchangeably.
Postcode (UK) = Zip code (US)
postcode = a group of numbers or letters and numbers which are added to a postal address to assist the sorting of mail.
"Postcode sectors" = an area denoted by a particular postcode.
"Buoyant house prices in the capital's smarter postcodes are attributed to city bonuses."
"My aunt lives in EC3. That's a postcode near the centre of London>"

The code of numbers at the end of an address is called a "zip code." In the UK, the code also includes letters and is usually referred to as a "post code."

"To send you a letter, I need to know your zip code."

イギリスではこのコードは文字も含まれていて通常 "post code"（郵便番号）とも呼ばれます。

In the UK, a post code (sometimes referred to as Postal code) is the part of an address that denotes the geographical area. Made up of a combination of letters and numbers, it allows the postal delivery service to sort the mail into districts and then distribute to smaller regional offices for more localised delivery.
For example:
The Postcode BN14 - The BN denotes a Brighton district but the 14 identifies the town (eg:Worthing) the number and letters that then follow identify the street location.
The USA use the term 'zip code' and it operates on a similar principle, the first digit identifies the State, followed by region followed by local address area.
