フィリピンにて。食事の残りをスタッフのために持って帰ろうと思い、お持ち帰り袋は 確か英語で doggy bag だったと思い出し、「 doggy bag please 」って言ったら、一緒に食事をしていたフィリピン人に、「 doggy bag ??（ 笑 ）」って笑われたんですが、ドギーバックではダメなのか。
- "Wrap it"（それを包んで）
食事の残りを持ち帰る際にレストランのスタッフに依頼するときは、"Wrap it"と言います。これは「そのものを包んで」という意図を表します。
ただし、文化や地域によっては、「doggy bag please」のような表現は必ずしも理解されないかもしれません。アメリカではこの表現はかつて一般的だったものの、現在では少し古風とされています。一部のレストランでは、お持ち帰り用の袋は犬の絵が描かれた「ドギーバッグ」を提供しているところもありますが、この用語は全ての英語圏で必ず理解されるわけではありません。
それに代わる現代的な表現として、「Could you wrap this to go?」（これを持ち帰り用に包んでもらえますか？）と言えば、多くの地域で理解されるでしょう。

In some countries, for example South Africa if you ask for a doggy bag it means that you would like your left overs packed since you want to take them with you.
Excuse me, would you have a container I could put the leftovers in, please?
Doggy bag = usually, a plastic bag in which the remains of the meal may be placed so the customer can take them home.
Container = any bag, box, tupperware, basket etc in which something may be stored.
I ordered too much food...and had to ask for a doggie bag!

Its simply a fun way to ask for the " Leftovers" to be wrapped up to take away

これは単純に"leftovers"(残り物)を詰めて家に持って帰ると言うおかしな言い方です。美味しい食べ物を無駄にしたくありませんし、後からお腹空くかもしれませんしね。

Doggy bag' is the most commonly used expression in Ireland when asking to take the leftover food home with you. Although it is a ''doggy'' bag it does not imply that you will give the food to your dog. But of course you can if you want. :) Lucky dog! :)
We don't always finish our meal when we eat out.
If we would like the waiter/waitress to pack our food up so we can finish it off at home we can ask by using the sentences above.
