"Give me a minute"
This sentence is used very casually and widely, used to express that someone should wait a 'minute' but usually longer than a minute.
"Please wait a little longer"
This is more of a polite and formal phrase, stating that they should wait a little longer, they should wait politely until you would say so.

Depending on the formality of the conversation, I would say different things. For a really formal setting, I would say, "Sorry to keep you waiting sir/madam, I will have [something] to you by the end of the day(week/month/year/etc.)
その会話のフォーマルさにもよりますが、とてもフォーマルな場では、

The two sentences you see above are great ways to ask your coworker to wait a little longer. In the second sentence you will see the term hold on. This means to wait. This is a term that we use a lot in our everyday conversation. It would make a great addition to your vocabulary.
