It's cold now, but up until yesterday it was warm.
Sometimes when seasons change the weather can change suddenly and unexpectedly. Sometimes when the weather changes unexpectedly it surprises us. If you want to express such a situation, you can use any of these expressions:-
1. Up until yesterday it was warm. but now it's cold.
2. It's cold now, but up until yesterday, it was warm.
Here are some examples of the answers in use:-
Jenny - "Hi Lisa, what's the weather in Toronto today?"
Lisa - "It's cold now, but up until yesterday it was warm."

When you want to explain that it has been warm but this morning is cold; then you may explain this in the following ways:
-It was warm until yesterday, but this is just morning cold.
-It's a cold spring morning even though it has been warm in the last few days
-It's been quite warm this spring but it's a bit cold this morning.
「しばらくずっと暖かかったけども今朝は寒い」なら、次のように言えます。
-It was warm until yesterday, but this is just morning cold.（昨日まで暖かかったけど今朝は寒い）
-It's a cold spring morning even though it has been warm in the last few days（ここ数日は暖かかったけど今朝は寒い）
-It's been quite warm this spring but it's a bit cold this morning.（今年の春はかなり暖かかったけど、今朝は少し寒い）
"Compared to..." is a good statement to use because you're focusing on the differences between two situations.Using "compare" requires two nouns that you want to describe."All of sudden" describes an abrupt change from one situation to another.It means that something has changed suddenly or quickly.
"Compared to..."（～と比べて）は、２つの違った状況を話しているときに使うのにぴったりのフレーズです。

If you wanted to explain that it was warm and spring-like until yesterday, but today morning is cold, you could say either of the following: 'It was warm until yesterday, but this morning is cold" or "I am surprised it is so cold this morning, it was really warm yesterday".
「昨日まで暖かくて春のような陽気だったけど、今朝は寒い」なら、次のように言えます。

The first phrase highlights that the weather has turned colder after a spell of warmer weather. In this sentence "turned" means to have changed.
The second phrase is conversational, and could be classed as an idiom. The speaker does not literally think that Winter has returned, but is using this to explain that the weather has turned unexpectedly cold again.
The third phrase is an old Greek proverb and, although it mentions Summer, it actually means that just because a good thing has happened - the warmer weather - it does not mean it is here to stay.

In the first example, we can use the adverb "suddenly" to describe that something happened quickly and unexpectedly, which is very typical of the weather. Mild is another way to describe the weather that is a little warmer than expected.
Balmy is another word for "mild" and is used mainly to describe weather conditions.
