In the UK this is not very normal and people have varying opinions about whether this is a good or bad solution. There are two comments given as possible reactive phrases on hearing this fact.
There is no actual phrase for this
you would just say 'the husband lives with his wife's parents' or 'the husband lives with his in laws'
an informal term used to describe your wife or husband's mother and father is 'in laws' (mother/father in law as they are your mother or father by law (marriage) )
