この場合の「それ以上に」は more than that や beyond that を使って言えます。
There were some tough times at school but more than that there were plenty of fun times as well.
「学校で辛い時もあったけど、それ以上に楽しいこともあった。」
I had some troubling moments at school but beyond that were many good times as well.
「学校で苦しい時期もあったけど、それ以上にたくさんの良い時間もあった。」
