"I'm close to the post office."
"I'm near the post office."
"close"には前置詞"to"が必要です。"near"を前置詞として使う場合は、"to"は使いません。
また、
待ち合わせなどをしている場所から、「そこはここに近いよ。」という場合は、
"That's nearby here."
"You're almost here."
"almost"は「だいたい・～に近い」という意味です。
