先生と生徒の立場は同等ではないって英語でなんて言うの？

「立場」はpositionやpoint of viewという訳語があります。The position of a teacher is not the same as a student'sを言ったら「地位は同僚ではない」という意味になります。
point of viewは以下みたいな感じです：
I'm trying to see the problem from the students' point of view
生徒の立場からその問題をとらえるようにしてます。
