You have to twist the cap back on tightly. It would be awful if the water is spilled inside the bag.

この質問で改めて気付いたのですが、蓋を開けるのはopenと言いますが、このような場合には閉じることをcloseとは言いません。put/twist the cap back on 「キャップを付け／締めなおす」が一般的だと思います。

なるべく直訳に近づけましたが、個人的には以下の方が短くて言いやすいと思います。

この場合、次のような言い方ができますよ。

「ちゃんとボトルのキャップをしっかり閉めてね、じゃないとカバンの中でこぼれて、カバンの中がベトベトになっちゃうよ」
to spill all over one's bag で「カバンの中でこぼれる」ことを言えます。
