もう少し短くするとすれば、このようにできるかと思いました。 他には： In Japan, traffic moves on the left, and pedestrians walk on the right. 日本では、交通(車両)は左側を進み、歩行者は右側を歩く。 ご参考になれば幸いです。

"In Japan, cars drive on the left side of the road while pedestrians are supposed to walk on the right side."は通じますし、そのまま使えると思います。 ちょっと短くて違う言い方ならこのように言えます： In Japan, cars drive on the left side of the road while pedestrians should walk on the right. この文の前半はそのままで、後半はare supposed toの代わりにshould(するべき)にしました。 また、walk on the right sideのsideを省略してもいいです。
