「興味を持つ」を英語にしたら、"have an interest in"と言います。例えば、外国語の興味があれば、have an interest in foreign languages と言います。
逆に、否定文の場合、to not have an interest in..になります。そして、過去形の場合、didn't have an interest in になります。
そうすると、「その授業に全く興味が持てなかった」は I absolutely didn't have an interest in that class. と翻訳できます。
