There ins't enough time (left). 十分な[時間がない](https://eikaiwa.dmm.com/uknow/questions/50193/)! →"left"をつけると[十分な](https://eikaiwa.dmm.com/uknow/questions/52525/)時間が残されてない、というニュアンスになります! • Wish there were more hours in a day!

    play icon

こんにちは。 おっちゃんぬはちょと婉曲的な表現を使ってみました。 この表現には主に2つのポイントがあります。 ① Wish で始まっているが命令文ではない 会話のときや、メール、SNSでのやり取りなどでよく使われる表現の仕方ですが、主語の I を省略して言う表現の方法です。Hope も同じように主語なしで使われることがよくありますよ。 ② 仮定法 Wish there were more hours in a day Wish there were 48 hours in a day! となります。 ★ 仮定法についての補足 上記の例では「現在のことについての仮定」ということでしたが、次の問題にトライしてみましょう。 「あの時、君が注意していれば・・・」 この場合は時制は過去なので、仮定法で言うときには「大過去」や「過去完了」と呼ばれる「過去の過去」を使います。 Wish you had been careful. これは you were not careful 「君は注意していなかった」を仮定法にしたものです。 形を変える際には、まず実際とは違う内容を言いたいので、you were careful となり、さらに「仮定だ」という合図を送るためにこれを過去完了にします。 なお、解説の便宜上、more を使いませんでしたが、よく more careful「もっと注意しいてたら」を使い Wish you had been more careful. となります。 以上、長くなってしまいましたが、ご参考にしていただければ幸いです。

  • I just don't have enough time

    play icon

In the first sentence, you have used the adverb 'hardly' which in this context means 'almost not'. You have said, I hardly have enough time. In the second sentence, you have included the adverb 'just' which in this context means 'exactly'. The adverb just in this context emphasizes your not having enough time.
最初の例文では、'hardly'という副詞を使っており、これはこの文脈では'almost not'(ほとんどない)を意味しています。 I hardly have enough time(時間がほとんどない)と言っています。 2つ目の例文では、副詞'just'を使っており、これはこの文脈では'exactly'(まさに)を意味します。この文脈での副詞'just'は、時間が足りないことを強調しています。
