「ついこの前に」と言うには英語で "recently" "not long ago" "the other day" と言うフレーズが使えます。
"Recently" は「最近」と言うニュアンスで使われます。"not long ago" はだいたい数日前の出来事を、 "the other day" は一ヶ月ほど前までの出来事について話す時に使われます。
例文：
"Recently, I saw Taro." 「最近、タロウを見かけたよ。」
"I was with Mika not long ago." 「ついこの前、ミカといたよ。」
"I hung out with Lisa the other day." 「ちょっと前、りさと遊びに行ったよ。」
