日本人は「イメージ」という言葉を本当によく使うんですが、日本語で使うような使い方は英語では ほとんどしないんです。
私は イメージの代わりに動詞の “ imagine” (想像する) を使うよう生徒に進めています。
言葉も似ていますしね。
例えば、
❶I imagined a “hospital director” would be someone older. というと
(「院長」ってもっと年上の人って想像してた)。
*院長 hospital director
❷When you think of a “ hospital director” you usually imagine someone older.
( 「院長」って聞くと、大体もっと年上の人を想像するよね)。
と言えますよ、一つの例として。

この場合、次のような言い方ができますよ。
ーWhen you think of the head of this hospital, you naturally picture an older man.
「病院の院長を思う時、自然にもっと歳のいった男性を想像する」
to picture an older man で「もっと歳をいった男性を想像する」
