イメージが違うって英語でなんて言うの？
「その言葉は日本ではイメージが違うんだよね」
と言いたいとき。
例えば
日本人はチップスて聞くとフライドポテトでなくお菓子のポテトチップスをイメージする、といった具合

「イメージ」は英語の「image」からの外来語ですが、英語でこの意味のフレーズはほとんど「image」という言葉は使いません。まったく入れなくてはならない場合にあったら、無理やり「That's not the image it brings to mind」という文章を作れますが、間違いではないですが、多分言わないと思います。
でも「come to mind」（思い浮かぶ）という表現はよく使います。たとえば：
A song that I hadn't heard in years suddenly came to mind.
急に長い間聞いていない曲を思い出した。
その意味に近い「bring to mind」（思い起こさせる）という表現もあります：
That expression brings to mind potato chips.
その表現はポテトチップスを思い起こさせます。

１）「make you think」想像するのは
「something different」違います
２）「conjures up」想像している。「conjures up」確かに「想像」の意味何ですが、結構幻想なイメージです。
「different」違う
「image」イメージ
