  • Once a month

  • Every month

  • Monthly

Using these three different phrases will let someone know you do something as often as monthly but nothing more frequent. 'I go out clubbing once a month to let my hair down'

  • Once a month

「一回」は英語で "once"、「ひと月」は英語で "a month" と言うので 「月一回」は "once a month" と言います。 例文: "I eat out at least once a month" 「月一回は外食する」 "I play the piano once a month." 「月一回はピアノを弾く。」 ご参考になれば幸いです。

  • Once a month.

  • Monthly.

  • Every month.

All three of this phrases can be used to describe doing something one time a month. The most common and closely related phrase would be to say, "once a month," but you can also use, "every month," and, "monthly," to refer to the same frequency of action. Example sentences : - I do yoga once a month. - Every month, I practice yoga. - I make monthly payments for my rent.

  • I visit the library on a monthly basis.

  • I have takeouts once a month.

1. I visit the library on a monthly basis. "Monthly basis' means that you do it once a month, i.e. every four weeks. To visit the library means to exchange the books that you have borrowed for different ones. Another example: "I visit my hometown on a monthly basis", or you can say, "I visit my hometown monthly." 2. I have take-outs once a month. "Once a month" also means monthly or on a monthly basis. Take-outs or takeaways are cooked food purchased from a restaurant or store that can be eaten elsewhere, e.g. at your home.

You'd like to explain that you do something at a frequency of once a month. In that case you can try any one of the above-suggested examples for that scenario.

You could use any of the three expressions to explain that you do a certain thing once a month. Examples; - I buy myself a book once a month. - I go to the cinema to see a movie once every month.

  • I eat at restaurants once a month.

  • I go to the theatre on the day I get my salary every month.

  • I go to the movies only on my payday.

If you eat at restaurants 'once a month', it could mean that you do so on the first Saturday of the month after you have received your salary, or any other day of the month, provided it is the only day in the month when you eat at restaurants. If it is the only day every month when you eat at restaurants, then you eat out only once a month. This has been stated in the first statement. In the second statement, you state that you go to the theatre on the day you get your salary, every month. People get their salaries only once a month. So, the second and third statements imply that you go to the theatre or the movies, only once a month and it's on your payday. So, you may say: I eat at restaurants once a month. or I go to the theatre on the day I get my salary every month. or I go to the movies only on my payday.

if you would like to explain to someone that you only do something once a month, you can say that you do this thing "monthly" or "once a month". For example you can say "I only cut my hair once a month because it does not seem to grow that fast.". This is a good example of hoe you can use the term "monthly" in a sentence.
