  • Hokkaido has very nice weather in the summer.

  • Hokkaido is very temperate that time of year

To say that a place 'is cool' when talking about the weather can be confusing at times, because 'cool' can also mean awesome or great and not kind-of warm. Because of this, it would be better to describe the place using the expression 'to have nice weather'. You will be clearly understood. EX Hokkaido has very nice weather in the summer. Hokkaido is very temperate that time of year

  • The temperatures are enjoyable in Hokkaido during the summer.

  • For cooler temperatures visit Hokkaido during the summer.

  • You should visit Hokkaido during the summer season as it is cooler.

When we say 'cool' in British/American English to describe a location, it means that this location is 'great' or 'trendy' etc. So the above sentences are more appropriate, so that it is clear you are referring to the temperature.

  • Hokkaido has a great temperature this time of year

  • Hokkaido has a cool temperature in summer

  • Hokkaido has a cool climate this time of year

If a place is not too hot and not too cold during Summer, you can say 'it has a great temperature this time of year'. In English, 'cool' is most commonly used to describe something that is trendy or hip so it can be confusing if cool is used to describe the weather as well. Instead, you can use cool in front of a noun to change the meaning. For example, 'Hokkaido has a cool temperature in Summer' or 'Hokkaido has a cool climate this time of year.' You can also say that summer is a beautiful time to visit a particular place. For example, 'Summer is a beautiful time to visit Hokkaido, it's not too hot or cold. The temperature is just right.'

  • Hokkaido is a very cool place, temperature-wise

  • Hokkaido isn't too hot, isn't too cold, it is perfect.

Firstly, thank you for the recommendation, next time I am that side of the world could check it out. But, if you want to recommend a place like Hokkaido because it is a cool temperatured (not a word) place, then you can use one of these two sentences. What else is good about Hokkaido? Try one out, and see how it goes. I hope this helps. Have a great day. Will

  • I recommend going to Hokkaido during the summer as the temperatures there are still quite cool.

  • Hokkaido is a very good place to visit in the summer because the temperatures there are still quite cool.

If you would like to explain to someone that you think Hokkaido is a good place to visit during the summer, you can say something like "Hokkaido is a very good place to visit in the summer because the temperatures there are still quite cool.". Make sure to use words like "recommend" or "temperatures" to make sure people understand WHY you think its a good place to go during the summer season.

  • A TEMPERATE CLIMATE...

  • Hokkaido inthe summer has a very temperate climate, much cooler than other regions

Since Hokkaido is in the North of Japan it never gets as hot as other areas...Like GIFU! Which gets up to a rather toasty 45 degrees;-) This kind of regional climate could be described as temperate...IE Not having extremes one way or the other...Not too hot...and not too cold. JUST RIGHT;-) TO avoid a steamy summer ...head up to Hokkaido its very temperate there.

  • Hokkaido is a great place to go during the summer because the temperature stays cool, it doesn't get too hot there.

Hokkaido is in the north of Japan, closer to the north pole, so the temperatures in the north of Japan are generally cooler there year round compared to other parts of Japan that are further south. In the south of Japan it can get very hot during the summer time.
