「試着する」というのはtry onですが、「試着室」は「trying-on-room」ではありません。
Fitting roomです。
尋ね方が色々あります。
一番素直な言い方は
Where is the fitting room?
それだけ使うと少し冷たく思われるこもしれませんので、その前に「excuse me」または「I was wondering」を付けます。
I was wondering, where is the fitting room.
Excuse me, where is the fitting room?
より丁寧な尋ね方は
Can you tell me where the fitting room is?
（試着室はどこにあるか教えていただけますか？）
より優しい言い方は
Do you know where the fitting room is?
（試着室はどこにあるかご存知ですか？）

You may refer to it as a 'fitting room' or a 'changing room.' When you put on clothing in a shop to see if it suits you and be sure you like the fit and feel of the fabric, it is described as 'trying on' a garment.
"Excuse me, may I try this on somewhere please?"
"Yes madam, the fitting room is over there>"

This sentence clearly ask where you can find the fitting rooms.

しかし、どちらの場合も試着室がどこにあるかわかりません、そして手助けが必要です。
The most common phrase would be "where are the changing rooms?". A changing room is a place where you try on clothes in a shop and comes from the fact that you "change" your clothes in there.
You may also use the term "fitting room" to mean the same as "changing room" although in the UK this is a less common term.
