英語では「通の作品」に当てはまる一つの言葉ありませんが、次のような表現が使えます。
1. A well-known work to those in that circle.
直訳：その領域に詳しい人たちの間でよく知られている作品
2. A highly regarded work by those in the know.
知る人ぞ知るの評価が高い作品
those in the know > 知る人ぞ知る
highly regarded > 評価が高い
3. ~ is known to everyone who knows about ~
〜(領域、art, literature, musicなど)がよく知っているなら、〜(作品の名前)は必ず知っている
(例)Classical Rock such as Ac/Dc is an example of a classic; still remembered fondly and is popular to this day.
AC / DCなどの古典的なロックは、誰もが知る通な作品で、今でも愛されており、人気があります。
(例)Something that has become popular over time, and is still valued highly in the future as a classical piece of media.
時間が経つにつれて人気が出てきたものであり、今後も通な作品(メディア)として高く評価されているものでしょう。
