Is this on sale?
(Is this for sale?)
This was a real bargain!
「① Is this on sale?」
また、「② Is this on offer?」
もしセール品を紹介してほしいなら、「Can you show me what's on sale right now please?」

Is this part of the sale?
また、discount(値引き)という言葉を使って、Is this a discounted item?
またはIt's normal price.
It says 'sale' but the sofa you are looking for appears to be exactly the same price as it was before the sale!
You need clarification about the price and call over a salesman:
"This is just the normal price, isn't it?"
"There should be a sale ticket with a reduced price on it somewhere. Let me
look......ahhh here, under the cushion. Can you see? It's actually half price now."
"Great! I'll take it!""
This means you want to know if the item qualifies for a discount. Sometimes the shop may display the item without the discounted price but advertise that they are having a sale. So you may need to ask the shop assistant if the item you want is on sale.

We can either talk about something being, "on sale," to talk about there being a special offer that might cause this item to cost less money than usual due to a promotion. We can also discuss that something has, "a discount," meaning that there is a percentage or a smaller price than there normally is.
