remain ではなく remind ですね。
息抜きをするは take a break と言います。
ーRemind them to take a break.

I should tell them to have a rest.
「息抜きするよう彼らに言わないと。」
have a rest とも言えます。

例：
I should tell them to have a rest once in a while so they won't get too tired.
「疲れすぎないよう、時々息抜きするよう彼らに言わないと。」
once in a while「時々」
