天気がいいので川に日向ぼっこしに行ったって英語でなんて言うの？

It was nice weather yesterday so I basked in the sun by the river.
（昨日はいいお天気だったので川辺で日向ぼっこをしました。）

Because it was nice weather yesterday, I went sun-bathing by the river.
（昨日はいいお天気だったので、川辺に日光浴をしに行きました。）

日向ぼっこはbasking (in the sun)でもsun-bathingでもOKです。baskは「暖まる、日光に当たる」という意味になります。

「天気が良かったので、川に日向ぼっこしに行くことにした。」
go sunbathing で「日向ぼっこしに行く」
by the river で「川（の側）で」

ーIt was a nice day, so I went to sit under the sun by the river.
「良い天気だったので、川のそばで太陽の下に座りに行った」＝「良い天気だったので、川の側で日向ぼっこしに行った」
sit under the sun を使っても「日向ぼっこ」を表現できます。
