新聞で英会話講師の倍率が上がっていると見ました。って英語でなんて言うの？

I saw in a newspaper that~ 新聞で~と見ました。 「倍率が上がっている」は複数な訳し方がありますね。例えば、 英会話講師の倍率が上がっている English teaching is becoming more competitive. english teachers are becoming more competitiveではなく、何とかの業界や大学の話にしますのでEnglish teachingにしました。 The applicant-to-acceptance ratio for English teaching positions is increasing. 英会話講師になりたい人が増えていることをより明確的に表しますね。 その友達さんが「英会話」と言う概念がわかっているはずで、English teaching positionsの代わりにEikaiwa teaching positionsにしても構いません。 Now times are tough because of COVID-19, but I believe that you will make a great English teacher 今はCOVID-19で大変な時期だけど、あなたは良い英会話講師になれると信じてるよ。 ご参考になれば幸いです。

I saw in the paper that more and more people are applying to become English teachers in Japan. 「英会話講師の倍率が上がっている」と言いたいとき、直訳で **the ratio is rising** とするのは不自然です。英語では「倍率が上がる」を **competition is getting tougher**（競争が厳しくなっている）や **more people are applying**（応募者が増えている）で表現するのが自然です。 また、「新聞で見ました」は **I read in the newspaper** や **I saw in the paper** が使えます。ここで **in** を使うことがポイントで、「新聞の中で」という意味を表します。
