felt like は「そう感じた」。
・"I didn’t think you were going to respond, so..."
「返してくれると思えなかった」。少し説明っぽく、落ち着いた言い方です。respond は reply より硬めですが、丁寧な印象になります。
・"Since I hadn’t heard back from you, I thought it was over."
I hadn’t heard back は「返事がなかった」。
