ーMy daughter took her first steps today.
「今日娘が初めて歩いた」
to take one's first steps で「初めて歩く」と言えます。
ーMy daughter started walking today.
「今日娘が歩き始めた」
to start walking 「歩き始める」を使っても表現できます。
