おっしゃる通り、この triple は形容詞です。
triple 〇〇
※〇〇には名詞が来ます。
で、「〇〇の3倍」という意味です。
ex. His salary is triple mine!「彼の給料は私の3倍だ」
ex. I went to the city during the peak season
and paid triple the price.
「その年に（観光の）繁忙期に行き、
（通常の時期の）3倍の価格を支払った」
などと言うことも出来ます。
triple のあとに、名詞の the price が来ていて
少し変わった使い方ですね。
※形容詞ですから、the triple price と言うことも可能です。
また、この triple をそのまま double に言い換えることも
出来ます。意味は「2倍」に変わります。
ex. The sumo wrestler’s weight is double mine.
「私の体重の2倍」
ex. His salary is double mine.
「私の（給料の）2倍」
ex. A4 is double the size of A5.
「A4（用紙）は、A5（用紙）の2倍のサイズだ」
