前の車が右折し終わるのを待ってるんだって英語でなんて言うの？

運転中、私の前の車が右折し終わるのを待ってました。子どもが「何で止まってるの？」と聞いてきたので、「前の車が右折し終わるのを待ってるんだ」と表現したかったです。

英語で「待っているんだ」と「待っている」のような文法はあまりなく、両方はI'm waiting forでいいです。
